The little rabbits from birth to weaning are baby rabbits. After the baby rabbits are born, because their organs are not yet fully developed, their regulatory functions are poor and their adaptability is poor, they are easy to die. According to the physiological characteristics of the young rabbits, they can be divided into two stages: sleep period and eye-opening period for feeding and management.

The primiparous female rabbits will refuse to breastfeed after giving birth, which will lead to lack of milk and starvation, and even death. Therefore, compulsory breastfeeding measures should be taken. The method is to fix the mother rabbit in the nest box to keep it quiet, place the baby rabbit next to the mother rabbit’s nipples, and let them suck the milk freely, breastfeeding 1 to 2 times a day, 5 to 7 minutes each time. The growth and development of young rabbits. The female rabbit will breastfeed automatically after 3 to 5 days.

2. Adjust foster care.

Generally, a female rabbit with normal lactation can feed 6 to 8 young rabbits. Foster care should be adjusted for those with a small number of litters. The method is to first take the baby rabbits out of the nest box, divide them according to their size and weight, and then apply a few drops of mother rabbit milk or urine to the baby rabbits to disturb the mother rabbit’s sense of smell and prevent the mother rabbit from rejecting foster care. , Bites or bites young rabbits to death. If the female rabbit is dead, milkless or without proper fostering, the artificial breastfeeding method can be used. If possible, 200ml fresh milk can be used, 3ml cod liver oil, 2g salt, and 1 fresh egg can be used to breastfeed the young rabbits. .

Pay attention to boiling and sterilizing the above mixture before feeding, and then cool it to 37~38℃, and let the baby rabbits suck freely with a glass tube or syringe. In addition, young rabbits are vulnerable to rodent damage within 4 to 5 days after birth, so special attention should be paid. The rabbit cage and rabbit nest must be tightly sealed to prevent mice from entering or leaving.
