The best construction method and process of gabion net

Gabion net is a kind of woven wire mesh, which is woven through a series of processes such as wire selection, weaving, cutting, and crimping. Gabion nets can be rolled up, or the cages can be packaged directly for shipment by workers.

Gabion net installation requirements:

Lay the folded gabion net on the ground and flatten the excess creases. The front panel, the bottom plate and the partition are erected into a frame shape, and the upper and lower corners of the adjacent cages are connected by twisted-pair composite wires; the upper and lower wires or folding wires are bound with screw fixing wires to tighten the joints. The gabion mesh is divided into several units by the partition plate. In order to enhance the strength of the mesh pad structure, the end plate should use a larger diameter steel wire to combine the various gabion meshes together.

The order of gabion net installation:

Use a tie wire that is 1.5 times larger than the side wire, and the longest wire length on the side of the cage should not exceed 1 meter. Use large-diameter wire at the edge ends of all panels. The upper and lower corners of adjacent cage groups are connected with single-strand or double-strand composite steel wires, and the distance between the two strands is generally not greater than 300 mm. The upper and lower frame lines or folding lines are fixed and twisted with steel wire, the distance from the edge to the end is at most 100mm, and the binding wire can be fixed with pliers. When binding, take care to keep the coating on the surface of the mesh to avoid damage.

Preparation of gabion net foundation:

The gabion net should be placed on the flat slope or excavated foundation pit according to the design of the construction drawing, and the flat foundation pit or plane should be filled with soft soil and corresponding plants that meet the engineering standards. Drainage around the foundation needs to be properly measured, as engineering-compliant geotextiles and drainage structures need to function.

Other work of gabion net construction:

After the foundation is ready, put the gabion net without material that needs to be installed in a suitable position, and connect the various parts along the frame, so that all the gabion nets form a consistent whole. The loaded stones should comply with the corresponding quarrying rules, and crushing super-large stones with a stone crusher can meet the demand. Stone should be strong, with smooth edges and corners, durable and not cracked even when immersed in water or exposed to harsh environments such as hot sun.

The gabion mesh is made of low carbon steel wire, galvanized and anti-corrosion, and woven into a hexagonal mesh space. It has the characteristics of good corrosion resistance, high strength and strong plasticity. Under the scouring of the water flow, the stones will get closer and closer to the gabion net, making the structure more solid.

During this process, the sediment will also flow to the gaps of the gabion net, thus playing a buffering role. Plant seeds will also take root and germinate in the sediment, which not only protects the stability of the structure, but also promotes the protection of my country’s ecological and economic environment. As a structural form combining geotechnical engineering and environmental engineering, the ecological gabion net structure is the most effective method for slope protection and stabilization at present.
